Summer Maintenance Invoice

Spring Services Start-Up has been slow thanks to the snow!

We’ve finally managed to get some good starts in on our General Maintenance lists, and snuck out a few Spring Service starts as well.. We’ve primaily focused on shrub & perennial trimming, plus leaf cleaning and mowing with a little bit of Power Raking mixed in where appropriate. The snow causes lasting moisture especially in lawns that are shaded, and in some cases properties were just too snow covered or wet for us to complete the tasks we had planned.

We’ve paid a visit to just about everyone on our Maintenance lists to get started, but we are cramming our schedules quite tight now that we are midway through April, so please forgive if we need to complete more cleaning on our next Services to get your property fully up to par for the year. We will be spending extra time on things like cleaning, bed maintenance, and weeding for the next month. A discount has been applied to May’s invoices to account for the slightly late start in April.
Our focus is still primarily on Mowing and Power Raking, as ground temperatures are just barely rising enough to make fertilizing effective. After one more week of decent temperatures, we will move heavily into completing Aerations and fertilizations.
We will also be breaking out the ladders to provide Eavestrough cleanings in early May(for those booked). There seems to be lots of dead leaves and seed pods still in the trees, so we’d like to see the last bits of fall’s messes down before we prep eavestroughs for the summer ahead.
If you have any questions about your package or Service dates, please feel free to reach out! With the weather changes so far, it’s likely we’ll be working on “Spring Services” for lawns until about mid-May. Let us know if there’s anything else you’d like to make sure we have on our list!

Power Raking is a service that is beneficial every few years depending on lawn conditions, removing dead and matted thatch is important for airflow but this thatch can also help to naturally feed the lawn and prevent moisture loss.. Plus if your lawn is already thin, a Power Rake may not improve its state. Core Aeration is beneficial in many ways, and a service we almost always recommend. Putting holes through the grass and root layer allows for soil expansion which encourages root growth, plus allows deeper access for seeding, watering and fertilizing. Soil Enhancement is our advanced liquid formula, designed to naturally improve moisture retention in the soil and restore vital micro bacteria’s that help to further break down latent nutrients in the soil. Shrub Pruning is almost always best done in early spring or some even over winter, we always aim to start on these heavily in March depending on weather conditions. Yard Clean-Up fee’s are considered required and allow for us to spend extra time during our first 2-3 visits in April to clean-up overwinter messes or do more particular detailing to get the property up to summer standards right away.
