Paver Patio’s begin by removing minimum 8″ raw soil. Proper grading and drainage is always considered. Paver base then consists of 4-6″ of drain rock, then 2″ of 6MM fractured pea gravel for levelling screed base. No longer is “beach sand” used as all rock bases make for better compaction, drainage, and greatly reduces possible shifting due to base(sand) loss! Polymeric Sand is a compound used in joints that hardens to like-rock, and Sealants are used to protect final finish!
